Our new combined authority, headed by an elected 'Metro' mayor announced to boost huge investment to North East!
We have the information that the new combined authority will cover the LA7 area of Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, Sunderland, South Tyneside, County Durham and Northumberland. Local Leaders and our mayors have been in positive discussions with Government and following successful talks it is now been offered a provisional deal which would unlock billions of pounds of investment in the North East. Access to investment will support inclusive economic growth and support our regeneration priorities, this was a long-time problem and finally seeing the results will be very important for all residents. This will be unlocking sites to bring forward new housing and commercial development to make our boroughs more attractive for businesses to invest, will support the local economy, and create extra employment in the North East. Reflection of good leadership and determination thanks to our local leaders and the mayor.
